  2. I beginning to think the way to deal with AGW is to concentrate on Texas. I think Texas is the lynchpin that holds everything together. Instead of spreading our efforts and resources, we need to focus them on a single fight. If we can turn Texas into a green state instead of a fossil fuel bastion then everyone else will fall into line. I'm not sure how to go about doing it, but I think this is the way to go.

  3. Sounds like a plan, though I don't really understand Texas let alone the way it does and doesn't fit with the rest of the USA.

My view is that, even if everyone _was_ marching in step with everyone else, there'd still be some more to the front and others more to the rear of the marching formation.

Texas is obviously in a good position with its supply of power from wind. I think the hardest thing to do is to get people to go along with the negawatts ideas. I read somewhere that if the USA's buildings were a nation, they'd be the third largest emitter in the world. Getting people on board with the boringly unexciting concepts of insulation, double glazing, awnings, blinds and curtains, or whatever is most suitable for specific buildings and locations is a big ask though. I suppose computer controlled air conditioning - in hotels for example - has a nice technological gadgetry shiny thing vibe, but most of the good stuff is pretty pedestrian when you think about it.
